Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Initiative Lead to provide senior-level leadership and coordination for a federal
Information Literacy Initiative. The successful candidate will oversee program activities involving digital content,
stakeholder and Taskforce engagement, communications, research, and project execution.
This position requires a strong communicator and project leader who can collaborate effectively with federal
program leadership, subject-matter experts (SMEs), technical teams, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead day-to-day coordination of initiative activities, including website content development, technical
updates, communications, and stakeholder engagement.
• Provide strategic direction for content collection, environmental scanning, stakeholder research, and
governance planning.
• Coordinate with federal program offices, Steering Committee members, Taskforce participants, and SMEs.
• Oversee development of videos, toolkits, social media campaigns, communications plans, and other
public-facing materials.
• Ensure deliverables meet Section 508 accessibility, branding, and quality requirements.
• Provide senior-level guidance for evaluation planning, quarterly reporting, and transition documentation.
• Lead and participate in high-visibility communications with federal stakeholders.
• Support research and strategy related to information, media, and digital literacy.

Required Qualifications
• Minimum 3 years of experience managing similar projects.
• Demonstrated experience with community engagement, lifelong learning, underserved or marginalized
communities, and public-facing content.
• Experience developing persuasive, executive-level presentations and slide decks.
• Strong project leadership, stakeholder management, written communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to effectively coordinate multidisciplinary teams and senior stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with information literacy, media literacy, digital literacy, or related research and strategy.
• Education or training in social science, education, sociology, cultural competence, qualitative research, or a
related discipline.
• Previous federal government or public-sector project experience.
Compensation: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
