Job Summary
We are seeking a Backup / Junior Google Workspace Administrator to support the administration, maintenance, and security of an enterprise Google Workspace environment. The successful candidate will assist the primary Google Workspace Administrator with day-to-day operations, user support, account management, security configuration, documentation, and troubleshooting while ensuring compliance with organizational security policies.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist in administering Google Workspace services including Gmail, Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Meet, Chat, Calendar, and Forms.
• Create, modify, and disable user accounts, groups, organizational units, and permissions.
• Support user onboarding, offboarding, and role changes.
• Assist with license management and subscription administration.
• Help implement and maintain Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Single Sign-On (SSO), and identity management.
• Monitor system health, security alerts, and user activity.
• Troubleshoot Google Workspace-related issues and provide end-user support.
• Support incident response and service restoration activities.
• Assist in maintaining documentation, operational procedures, and administrative guides.
• Participate in testing and deploying new Google Workspace features.
• Coordinate with senior administrators, IT teams, and vendors when required.
• Provide backup coverage for the primary Google Workspace Administrator during planned or emergency absences.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2–5 years of experience supporting Google Workspace administration.
• Knowledge of:
o Google Admin Console
o Gmail Administration
o Google Drive Administration
o Google Meet & Chat
o User and Group Management
o Organizational Units
o Google Workspace Security
• Understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM).
• Familiarity with MFA, SSO, and Zero Trust security concepts.
• Experience supporting enterprise cloud collaboration platforms.
• Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Google Workspace Administrator Certification.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Knowledge of NIST, FISMA, and FedRAMP security requirements.
• Experience with PowerShell, Bash, or scripting/automation.
• Experience working in federal or government-contractor environments.
